  1. Day 1 Sofia - Arrival
    • Arrival at the Airport.
    • Depending on the arrival time – direct transfer to the hotel or part of Sofia city tour could be made.
    • Visit of National History Museum (+) than moving to the center for a walking tour including: Alexander Nevski Cathedral – second biggest Orthodox cathedral on the Balkans (+), St. Sophia church – the oldest church in the city (o), continue along the golden square and with a view to all emblematic buildings and monuments around it: National Assembly (o), Memorial of Tsar Liberator (o), Military club (o), Russian church (+), National Gallery (o), the Presidency – possibly seeing the changing of the guards (o), St. George Rotunda (o), Archaeological Museum (o), Serdika Ruins (o), St. Nedelya church.
    • Accommodation in hotel 3*. Overnight in Sofia.
  2. Day 2 Rila Monastery, Melnik
    • Transfer to Rila Monastery (120km – 2h) – biggest and most important monastery in Bulgaria (UNESCO). Entrance to the Monastery yard and church – richly decorated with murals and paintings (+).
    • The monastery was initially built in the 10th During the centuries it grew into the most important cultural, historical, and architectural monuments and a key tourist place visited by more than million tourist a year.
    • Transfer to Melnik (120km – 2h). Visit the smallest town in Bulgaria located in picturesque area surrounded by high sand pyramids some of which up to 100 meters high.
    • Tour of the small town, the famous Kordopulova house – considered biggest revival house on the Balkans, tour of the cellar and wine tasting of 3 wines.
    • Transfer to Sandanski (20km – 30min).
    • Accommodation in hotel 3*. Overnight in Sandanski.
  3. Day 3 Thessaloniki
    • Breakfast.
    • Transfer to Thessaloniki – 2nd largest city in Greece. (140km – 2h).
    • City tour of Thessaloniki very center – including visit of the White tower (+), Statue of Aleksander the Great, the Agora (o), St. Demetrius church (+), Aristoteles Square.
    • Then continue to Heptapyrgion Fortress (+), pass by Trigonion Tower with its great view over the town (o), the Rotunda – one of the most important Roman monuments, also known as church of Agios Georgios (o), etc.
    • Free time for shopping in the touristic area.
    • Transfer to Katerini (70km – 1h)
    • Accommodation in hotel 3*. Overnight in Katerini.
  4. Day 4 Meteora
    • Breakfast in the hotel.
    • Transfer to Kalabaka in which vicinity is the famous Meteora rock formation with its Monasteries built on the cliffs of the steep rocks (170km – 2:15h).
    • Visit the famous Grand Meteoron monastery (+) – biggest and most significant of the 6 monasteries nearby, built around 1340 year.
    • Then – visit one more of the other monasteries (+).
    • Walk on the Eco trail in the vicinity of the picturesque area with view to the other monasteries and rock formations above including the famous Holy Trinity monastery – the one used in the James Bond movie ‘For your eyes only’.
    • If there is time could be visited some of the other Monasteries – against surcharge.
    • Transfer to Ioannina (105km – 2h).
    • Accommodation in hotel 3*. Overnight in Ioannina.
  5. Day 5 Gjirokaster, Butrint and Sarande
    • Early breakfast in the hotel.
    • Transfer to Gjirokaster (90km – 1:30h) – a town in UNESCO list with many houses from Ottoman time resembling stone towers.
    • Visit the Castle (+) and the Museum of Weapons (o). Walk between the old houses on the cobblestone streets of the town.
    • Transfer to Butrint – also a part of UNESCO heritage. (70km – 1:30h).
    • Tour of the site including Shrine of Asclepius (+), Venetian fortress (o), the Amphitheatre (o), the Baptistery (+), the Lion gate (o), and more.
    • Beside historical site, the area is proclaimed a National Park offering you the opportunity to walk in lush Mediterranean forest.
    • Transfer to Sarande – another pearl on the Albanian coastline. (18km – 30min). There we will visit the Lekursi Castle (+) and have a magnificent view over the bay and the town below.
    • Accommodation in hotel 3*. Overnight in Sarande.
  6. Day 6 Berat and Durres
    • Transfer to Berat – one of the most beautiful towns in Albania, lying on the banks of Osum River. (190km – 3:30h) and included in UNESCO Heritage list.
    • Tour including Berat Castle (+), Gorica Bridge (o), Walk in the Old Town quarter near the river and pass by Backelor’s Mosque (o).
    • Transfer to Durres – (100km – 1:30h).
  7. Day 7 Shkoder, Kruje and Tirana
    • Transfer to Shkoder (110km – 2h).
    • Tour along Kole Idromeno str, Ebu Bekr Mosque (o).
    • Visit the Venice Art Factory (+).
    • Transfer to Kruje (90km – 1:45h).
    • Visit Castle of Kruja with its museum (+), Tower of Kruja (o), Monument of Skanderbeg (o), central area.
    • Time for shopping in the Old Bazaar area.
    • Transfer to Tirana (40km – 1h).
    • City tour of Tirana most famous landmarks: Skanderbeg Square, Orthodox Autocephalous Church (+), Tirana castle area (o), Great Mosque of Tirana (o), etc.
    • Accommodation in hotel 3*. Overnight in Tirana.
  8. Day 8 Ohrid
    • Transfer to Ohrid (140km – 2:30h)
    • City tour of Ohrid including: Churches of St. Sophia – the most important and old church in the town (+), The Ancient Amphitheatre (o), Climb to the Samuel’s Fortress (+) from where view to the all surroundings will take your breath away.
    • Free time for cruise, shopping or walk the board road toward St. Joan church (o) – another emblematic touristic spot, etc.
    • Accommodation in hotel 3*. Overnight in Ohrid.
  9. Day 9 Skopje
    • Early Breakfast.
    • Transfer to Skopje – the capital of North Macedonia. (190km – 3:30h).
    • City tour of Skopje starting from Macedonia square with its monuments and emblematic buildings around – Monument of Aleksander the Great, Philip 2nd, Monument of St. Climent & Naum, walk the Stone Bridge, pass nearby the buildings of the Constitutional Court (o), Daud Pasha baths (o) considered biggest baths on the Balkans from Ottoman time, Archeological Museum (+), Museum of Macedonian Struggle (o), etc. Check on the Mother Theresa house memorial (o), the Old Bazaar area, etc.
    • Transfer to Sofia (240km – 3:30h).
    • Accommodation in hotel 3*. Free time. Overnight in Sofia. // possibly fly away from Skopje
  10. Day 10 Sofia - Departure
    • Free time OR visit the places from the program that could not be visited the first day.
    • Transfer to the Airport.

We reccommend to exchange EUR or USD only in licensed currency exchange offices. Use only local currency in the shops.

The Credit Cards are widely accepted in Bulgaria, but for small purchase we reccomend tou have Bulgarian Lev in cash.
