  1. Day 1 Sofia - Arrival
    • Arrival at Sofia Airport.
    • Depending on arrival time: city tour of Sofia (split between first and the last day).
    • Transfer to Boyana quarter (10km – 20min). Visit the Boyana Church (+).
    • Transfer to the National Museum of History (4km – 10min). Visit of the museum (+).
    • Departure for Sofia city center. (10km – 30min).
    • Later – the tour of the center will continue from Alexander Nevski Cathedral (+), St. Sophia church (o), continue along the golden square and with a view to all emblematic buildings around it, to the Presidency (o) and St. George Rotunda (o).
    • Free time to walk on Vitoshka Pedestrian Street.
    • Accommodation in hotel 3 or 4*.
  2. Day 2 Rila Monastery

     

    • Early Breakfast.
    • Transfer to Rila Monastery (120km – 2h) – biggest and most important monastery in Bulgaria (UNESCO). Entrance to the Monastery yard, the church – richly decorated with murals and paintings (+). Entry in the museum (+) where could be see many icons and artifacts from the Monastery past, among them – the unique Raphael cross – wood crafted cross with hundreds of miniatures figures.
    • Later – transfer back to Sofia (could be also Bansko). (130km – 2h).
    • On the way – stop to Medi Valley Winery. Tour of the winery with incl. Wine tasting of 3 wines. Possible shopping.
    • Accommodation in hotel 3 or 4* in Sofia/Bansko.
  3. Day 3 Plovdiv
    • Breakfast in the hotel.
    • Transfer to Plovdiv (160km – 2-2:30h).
    • The city tour starts from the Roman Stadium (o), Old Mosque (o) and continue to the Old Town quarter.
    • Time for lunch (own expenses).
    • In the Old town will be seen Roman Amphitheatre (o), St. Helena church (+), Ethnographic Museum (+), and many revival houses along the streets (o).
    • Time to peek into some of the artisans and souvenirs shops around.
    • Later will be visited the Great Basilica (+) the newest touristic site where could be seen mosaics from Roman times.
    • Accommodation in hotel 3 or 4* in Plovdiv.
  4. Day 4 Kazanlak
    • Breakfast in the hotel.
    • Transfer to Kazanlak area (110km – 2h).
    • Visit Damascena complex (+) near Skobelevo village, where clients will get in touch with the history of Rose oil production in the region. (1h).
    • Time for lunch (own expenses).
    • Transfer to Kazanlak (25km – 30min).
    • Visit the Thracian Tomb (+) incl. in the UNESCO Heritage list & History Museum (+).
    • Transfer to Nessebar (220km – 3h)
    • Accommodation in hotel 3 or 4* in Nessebar area.
  5. Day 5 Nessebar & Varna
    • Breakfast in the hotel.
    • Tour of the Nessebar Old quarter. Walk around the cobblestone streets with typical Bulgarian revival architecture mixed with ruins from the Byzantium era, and beautiful sea views.
    • Time for lunch & Shopping (own expenses).
    • After lunch – transfer to Varna (100km – 2:30h)
    • Visit the Archaeology Museum in Varna (+) and Varna Cathedra “Dormition of Mother of God” (+). Possible walk in the Sea Garden.
    • Accommodation in hotel 3 or 4* in Varna.
  6. Day 6 Veliko Tarnovo
    • Breakfast in the hotel.
    • Departure for Madara (80km – 1:15h). Visit the Madara Horseman (+).
    • Continue to Veliko Tarnovo. (150km – 2h).
    • Time for lunch (own expenses).
    • City tour of Veliko Tarnovo – Samovodska charshia Artisans Street (o), Central parts (o), Asenevtski Memorial (o).
    • Later – visit Tsarevets hill & Fortress (+).
    • Accommodation in hotel 3 or 4* in Veliko Tarnovo.
  7. Day 7 Etara & Lovech
    • Transfer to Etara Ethnographic complex. (55km – 1h). Visit of the complex + shopping (2h).
    • Transfer to Lovech (80km – 1:30h).
    • Time for lunch (own expenses).
    • Visit the Covered bridge (+), Vasil Levski memorial (o) and Hisarya fortess (+).
    • Transfer to Sofia (150km – 2:30h).
    • Accommodation in hotel 3 or 4* in Sofia.
  8. Day 8 Sofia - departure
    • Breakfast in the hotel.
    • Free time OR continue exploration of Sofia with everything that was not visited from the program on day 1.

We reccommend to exchange EUR or USD only in licensed currency exchange offices. Use only local currency in the shops.

The Credit Cards are widely accepted in Bulgaria, but for small purchase we reccomend tou have Bulgarian Lev in cash.
